Our sustainability work
Sustainability is a term that is overused in many contexts. For us, sustainability is about finding a balance between ecological, social and economic well-being through our actions without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
How we work with the environment and sustainability
At Team ET, we work to develop cost-effective packaging that solves your needs, while minimising climate and environmental impact. We do this by focusing on the following three aspects:
- Life cycle perspective
To ensure a circular future, we need to consider the whole life cycle of products and materials. We are continuously working to increase recycling and reuse rates together with our partners.
- Product design and material selection
Together with our partners, we enable smart material and product choices that minimise environmental impact and contribute to sustainable material flows.
- The sustainability of the supply chain
The environmental, climate and social impacts of products and materials are scrutinised and assessed during purchasing. The fact that our suppliers' sustainability work is in line with our and the industry's objectives is a prerequisite for long-term cooperation.
Sustainable material flows are our focus
As a packaging producer and converter of a wide range of different materials, we have a big impact on the materials we use. Therefore, our major focus is to work with materials that enable sustainable material flows. Together with our three aspects, we enable sustainable material flows by systematically:
- Increase recycling
We do not consider it sufficient to use materials that are compatible with recycling. We want to enable recycling in our own, closest value chain. - Increase the use of recycled materials
To support existing recycling infrastructure and the circular economy of the future, we develop high-quality recycled material solutions that meet your needs. - Increase resource utilisation
Developing solutions that are resource efficient in product development, product & material manufacturing is not only cost effective, but it also saves our planet.
Clean energy within Team ET
Our production units are clean in terms of chemical and greenhouse gas emissions to nature and the atmosphere. That's why we focus on where our energy comes from and how our energy use affects the climate and the environment.
For a decade, we have been recognised for the solar farms we have installed at our production facilities in the Group. This started back in 2015 at Svensk Emballageteknik AB in Järfälla with a solar panel park of 5,500 m2. Today, 4 out of 5 units have solar panel parks, where our ultimate goal is for all units to be self-sufficient in their own produced solar energy over the whole year!
Open and honest communication
To achieve ambitious goals, meet industry challenges and drive sustainable development together, we believe that open and honest communication is a crucial aspect. We foster a culture of transparency and trust, which we know contributes to productive and positive collaborations. This is why these are important cornerstones of our relationship building, both internally and externally.
Our work to build a culture of openness, trust and mutual understanding in our interactions with colleagues, customers and partners is based on six guiding principles:
-
Confidentiality - Transparency is encouraged, but we also respect confidential and proprietary information.
-
Transparency - We are committed to sharing relevant information openly, ensuring that all parties have access to the necessary data and insights.
-
Honesty - We value honesty and expect straightforward, truthful and sincere communication.
-
Active listening - We emphasise the importance of active listening and value each party's perspective and feedback.
-
Respect - We respect different opinions and encourage objective, respectful and professional discourse.
-
Responsibility - We take responsibility for our words and actions and recognise any errors or misunderstandings.
